Eight scientists and engineers from the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ have been elected this year to the Washington State Academy of Sciences.

Chris Bretherton, a professor of atmospheric sciences and of applied mathematics, has been elected to the National Academy of Sciences.

Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ atmospheric sciences faculty and graduate students are in Tasmania studying how clouds form over Antarctica’s Southern Ocean.

Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ faculty members were among international researchers who compiled the fifth climate-change assessment report. The Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ will host a seminar Tuesday, Oct. 1 with some of the Seattle-area authors.
