Strategic Plan 2026–2030
Built for the moment — advancing the future
Information technology
Building a more connected, technology-enabled Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ that strengthens how we teach, learn, research, innovate and work.
Technology enables teaching, learning, research and patient care at the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ, helping advance our mission and serve communities across Washington and beyond. IT organizations provide the systems, tools, infrastructure and expertise that make this possible.
Charged by the Information & Technology Executive Committee, the IT Operational Excellence Working Group is exploring how technology can improve the experience of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ community, reduce administrative burden and enable innovation.
What we are working toward
The Working Group is exploring opportunities to:
- Create connected, user-centered services that reduce friction and administrative burden.
- Leverage technology, expertise, automation and AI to enable innovation.
- Clarify how technology services are supported and delivered by identifying where University-wide, shared or local approaches best meet the needs of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ community.
- Strengthen the technology workforce through collaboration, skill development and opportunities to grow.
These areas support the vision in the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Strategic Plan of bringing people, ideas and technologies together and stewarding the people and resources that support the University’s mission.
Where we are now
The Working Group has brought together technology leaders from across the University to develop solution ideas that strengthen collaboration across IT organizations and improve the technology experience for the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ community.
Shaping the future together
The Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ has deep technology expertise distributed throughout its campuses, schools, colleges and administrative units. IT professionals and the faculty, staff and students who rely on technology will play an important role in identifying needs, evaluating opportunities and shaping future approaches.
