LICENSE TO GIVE: A 1990 graduate of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ School of Dentistry recently became the proud holder of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ specialty license plate number W2007A.  Thomas Em, who recently moved to Walla Walla after practicing in Oregon, didn’t expect to get a Husky plate at all when he went to the Department of Licensing, let alone one bearing the current year.  But Em saw a poster advertising the plates, and on being told that proceeds from their sale support a Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ scholarship fund, he was happy to sign up.
Em is now among more than 5,000 registered Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ plate owners who contribute annually to the General Scholarship Fund. “I’m grateful for the opportunity that I had to attend Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ,â€ he said. “I chose the license plate to show my affiliation and to help give back a portion of what my education has done for me.â€
The current numbering cycle will end when some lucky driver gets W9999Z.
