The Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ has been recognized as a “Great College to Work Forâ€ by the Chronicle of Higher Education in its 2014 survey.
Now in its seventh year, the Chronicle’s program recognizes small groups of colleges (based on enrollment size) for specific best practices and policies. The Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ was specifically recognized for overall employee job satisfaction, and tenure clarity and process — making it one of 10 large universities recognized in each of those categories.
“̹½ÊÓƵ faculty and staff incite fierce passions, creative energy and a collaborative spirit across our classrooms and communities,â€ said Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ President Michael K. Young. “We actively support our employees’ professional and personal growth because their work serves the next generation of thinkers, doers and leaders.â€
Approximately 500 Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ faculty and staff were randomly surveyed and asked to evaluate the university in a variety of categories.
“I am thrilled, but not surprised, that the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ has been recognized as a great college to work for in the first year we have participated in the Chronicle of Higher Education’s assessment,â€ said Mindy Kornberg, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ vice president for human resources. “The Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ truly has it all — from three beautiful campuses and award-winning medical centers to an exceptional workforce that is focused on collaboration and innovation.â€
The Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ is one of 92 colleges and universities honored across the United States in areas that include leadership, careers, compensation and workplace culture. This year 278 institutions, including 196 four-year institutions, participated.
