In many areas of the world, women and girls walk an average of six kilometers to collect water for their families that often isn鈥檛 even safe to drink. Five Washington-based organizations 鈥� 蘑菇视频, Washington Global Health Alliance (WGHA), PATH, Washington State University’s Paul G. Allen School for Global Animal Health and World Vision 鈥� are partnering to improve the health and livelihoods of thousands of women and girls and their families in rural Tanzania through the 鈥淲ater, Wealth and Health鈥� program.
Seattle Sounders FC played a catalytic role in developing the 鈥淲ater, Wealth and Health鈥� partnership. In 2013, players traveled to Tanzania with WGHA to observe global health projects.聽Now the Sounders FC have selected the 鈥淲ater, Wealth and Health鈥� partnership as the beneficiary of their inaugural 聽on聽Aug. 9.
